The MSUM Faculty Association is having an election this spring for a number of Executive Council positions, as well as several Faculty Senate positions. The election will take place electronically from April 8 to April 15. You will be getting a Nomination form specific to your college through campus mail. If, for some reason, you don’t get it, you can always download the form from this page. Please consider running for one of these positions. Executive Council positions open are: MSUMFA President, Vice President, Secretary, and IFO Board. These are 2 year positions. Faculty Senate positions are typically 2 year positions as well. In the Spring of 2017 we added a number of 3-year positions in each College, so that terms will be staggered after that and we would not have all the positions expiring at the same time. Because some positions were not filled the nomination form includes both 2-year and 3-year term positions in some cases. If you are curious about the responsibilities of members of Exec or the Faculty Senate you can click on the About link and take a look at our ByLaws. All IFO members, with full and part-time appointments are eligible to vote in this election. If you are not a member and want to run for election or vote, make sure you become a member by clicking on the Join the IFO link on top of the page by the time the nomination forms are due.
You can return the nomination form by noon on Thursday, March 27, either through campus mail, or as a signed and uploaded pdf file through email. This is a local election, so you can use your campus email if you wish. We would appreciate also receiving a statement from each candidate along with the nomination form, explaining why you are running, and providing any information you think will be useful to your colleagues whose vote you are seeking. We will upload statements on this website.
